Another sick day…

Yesterday I took the day off and went to Arecibo in search for the director of the computer sciences department to see if he could make me a reference letter. At first he was reluctant, because obviously he didn’t recognized me, back then, when I was in college, I just interacted with my professors the required time, three times a week, one hour per day in the class room, so I am not surprised that he, or any other professor, wont recognize me. But the secretary of the department is another story, I spent a lot of time with her, whenever I had free time, or didn’t had anything better to do, I went to her office to joke around with the usual nerds that hanged there. So, she spoke with the professor and “refreshed” his memory, and after several minutes of telling him how boring.., I mean, “entertaining” his classes were, he consented to make the letter. Shortly after that I went to pick up my diploma. I graduated in may 2002 but right after that I started working, so, I did not had the time to go and pick that fucking piece of paper that is written in Latin…, why the fuck is it in Latin? And then I went to PostNet to fax the letter, I called the HR girl to tell her that the letter was on its way.

The waiting game.

The friend that is working there, the one that recommended me for the job, told me that if they asked for references that means am already inside, that they called her with a job offer one day after they checked the references. So, now I am basically sitting right next to my cell phone waiting for it to ring. I am cleaning my computer, desktop and organizing stuff just in case they really come up with a job offer, I want to be prepared to leave this place as soon as I sign the contract of employment, if that happens I wont be able to give my current employers the required time (two weeks notice) to quit, and I don’t really care, when a company fires you they don’t give two weeks notice, so fuck them. Anyway, since I am not there yet, I should get back to my duties…
