It’s going to happen again…

… but this time is going to be WORST.  What am I talking about? I am talking about the political, economical, and social instability that this island is going through.  For those that read this blog but don’t know shit about Puerto Rico, well, about two weeks ago the Truckers Union went on strike for two days and the citizens got into hysteria mode and flooded every gas station on the island drying all of the them up in less then 24 hours.

Ok, fast forward to today.

Now things are a little more complicated, let me try to explain everything that has been going on.   The budget that the senate proposed to the governor was a “little” too short and the governor rejected it, now he has to deal with last year’s budget which is even lower than the senate proposed.  The governor, in all his glorious wisdom (sarcasm, just in case) decided that he would sing a decree (he actually did) that states that every public service employee, except the police and other important services like hospitals and the like, will have to work for four days a week so that the government could save some money.  That angered EVERY public worker union and they are threatening to go on strike.  Can you imagine what would happen to this island if 100,000++ public workers go on strike at the same time?, I sure as hell don’t want to imagine that!

Why are they threatening to go on strike instead of taking the “offer” and not get fired?, there is a GOOD reason for that.  EVERY service in the island is getting an increase by the end of the year, the water service is going up, 120% up, the energy is going up and all the highway tolls are going up too.  If everything rises and salaries go down everyone know that eventually people are going to explode in anger, and that is what’s about to happen.  I pray to every fucking god that every civilization has created, and the ones yet to come, that they don’t go on strike because things could get REALLY ugly…
