I started exercising my legs to see if I can increase the performance on the static cycle and that is starting to hurt. I know I know, its just Tuesday and I am whining like a little bitch but every time I go down the stairs I have to grab like an old man using a walker. But…, I LIKE that pain, it feels soooo good, am I a masochist?
Anyway, in other news… I GOT A RAISE!!!!
Last week my boss told me that he talked to his boss (the president) about giving me a raise because he doesn’t want me to leave. WTF, is he a physic? He told me that several good programmers have left the company and that he doesn’t want any other good programmers to leave. At that moment I just didn’t believed he because he didn’t gave me anything official but today he gave me a confirmation letter that in fact my salary was raised. It’s just 3K more, about 6.50% increase or something like that, but it’s something. In fact, now it will be hard for me to find another job on this island that pays as much in this very same position (Programmer/Analyst) sooo I might stay here for a year or two until I finish my Masters Degree, and after that I will flee to the states if I don’t find something suitable for me here.

Yo te sugiero que te vallas de esta mierda de país, eso es lo mismo que voy a hacer voy a terminar mi bachillerato en Ciencias de Computo, luego busco un trabajo y termino mi maestría y luego cojo un jet para llegar mas rápido a EU jajaja. Este país cada vez esta peor, aquí estamos bien pero que bien atrasados tecnológicamente como una década de atraso.

Yo pensaba exactamente lo mismo que tu cuando estaba en el bachillerato, deseaba largarme de la ijla lo mas pronto posible, pero en cuando consegui trabajo y comence con mi vida de adulto “responsable” *insert HUGE rolleyes* todo eso cambió.
Otra cosa es que el atraso tecnologico ese del que hablas es una falacia, puede que las universidades no esten enseñando lo ultimo en los muñequitos pero cuando llegas a la empresa privada la realidad es otra. Las compañias estan dependiendo cada dia mas y mas de la información electronica y estan invirtiendo BUEN dinero en eso.
Claro, eso todavia no ha quitado la percepcion de que un programador debe ser un “sabelo todo”, debe saber desde como imprimir en Word hasca como editar una imagen en Photoshop, ese tipo de mentalidad me ENCABRONA. Pero bueno, ahi le vamos, hay que “re-educar” al usuario y jever brutos (gracias a satan ya no tengo de los ultimos) y mi tecnica es mirarlos mal y reirmeles en la cara cada vez que me salen con algo asi

theBLOGMACHINE: Concurro con DarkSoul que las empresas privadas estan mas avanzados que lo que dan en las universidades aqui en PR….aunque depende de la industria donde esta la empresa privada. Tambien concurro que algunas companias creen que un tecnico de IT es un handyman que tiene que hacer de todo y saber de todo. Esa percepcion no es solo de Puerto Rico y esta en EEUU como el resto del mundo. Eso es una de las cosas que hay que lidiar.

Yo los entiendo, estuve trabajando un verano ayudando a un Programmer-Analyst y es un trabajo que hay que hacer de todo desde arreglar computadoras (el tubo que aprender a arreglarlas) hasta mover escritorios, pero al que le gusta como a mí es un pasatiempo, que por cierto todavía no me dan un carajo en la universidad de programación fuck!

Heh, a mi me llegan a decir que mueva un escritorio o que arregle una computadora me largo de aqui mas rapido que lijero! Uno tiene que poner limites porque si no van a esperar que siempre uno haga lo mismo.
