Tuesday, May 16, 2006 @ 1:21 pm by -DS-Six classes to get my Master’s Degree in open computer systems, at two courses per semester I should finish on a year and a half. So in about a year and a half I will pack my things and get off this island, I hope that things calm down on the US concerning the immigration thing, even tough I am a US citizen (a forced one because no one over here asked to be one) the “gringos” will see me as an immigrant and that label has a lot of baggage nowadays.
Over here things seem to be calming down a little bit, the government reopened its offices and most people got back to work, but now the debate is if there should be a sales tax or not and how high it should be. I have always favored a sales tax, we are a consumerist society so it makes sense to establish something like that, I will feel it on my pockets, but it’s the right thing to do since many people avoid paying taxes therefore a sales tax would force them to pay one way or another. There is also a debate whether corporations should be the ones to get a tax instead of the people, but common sense dictates that if you strangle a corporation financially, the corporation will leave the island and put its offices elsewhere where they can earn a higher profit, so yeah, implant that tax if you want Puerto Rico to become poorer. That is a dumb suggestion IMHO.

Inter Metro, Puerto Rico.
Do i feel its worth it?
Hmmm., I have to say no because most of the knowledge in this field comes from job experiences, BUT, it can get you a better job and that is what I am hoping once I leave the island.

Aun asi mi mujer y yo tnemos nuestras miras apuntando a Texas.
